8.3?

Is there something new in a big way with 8.3, or is it just what happens if you count 8.2.9 -> 8.3. I assumed it'd be 8.2.10, and the 8.x upgrades were for new bigger things like Max or the Bridge?

Wrong.. If you're clicking "Check for updates" from the Help menu, then it's hardly an automated process you've initiated.. That's what would be a 'manual' update check.banned wrote:The new Automatic Update feature is a wonderful pile of crap, it seems. Checking for updates still opens a browser page, as usual.
Yeah, I understood that allright, sorry if that wasn't clear. But I maintain that it seems to be a wonderful pile of crap. I'll bet you that it's going to reinstall the Japanese manual and fat PPC code at least once (but more likely: over and over).cotdagoo wrote:Wrong.. The automatic update feature runs in the background seamlessly and downloads updates if it finds any when you launch Live. Then when you close Live, if there are updates downloaded & waiting it will apply them so the next time you start the new version will already be in place.
