Considering that a new license from Ableton is currently £269 (I assume this is excluding VAT), which includes the update to Live 10, I'm not sure how attractive £185 is for Live 9 Standard. How much is VAT in the UK for software? How much is the update to Live 10 for Standard users?

It was purchased a couple of years ago, so doesn’t include the 10 upgrade.

in South Africa; £239 is the price for a new Live 9 standard license and seems to include VAT, also including a free update to Live 10 Standard.
The update price from Live 9 Standard to Live 10 Standard is approximately £159.
On the other hand, my account is showing £191 as the upgrade price from L9 Standard to L9 Suite (which automatically qualifies for free update to Live 10 Suite).

So, if you buy the L9 standard for £185 without a free update, it will take a minimum of £349 total (£185 + £159) to update to Live 10 Standard. Which is much higher than the £239 it takes to get a new L9 license with free L10 update)
It will take a minimum of £371 (£185 + £191) to get Live 9 suite with free update to Live 10. Which is lower than the £415 it takes to get a new L9 Suite license.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're on your way to Live 10 Standard, £185 is way too much... but if you're heading for Live 10 Suite, you might not lose much, but it's not the best you can do.

but don't take my word for it, things might be different for UK residents
