higher CPU load?

Post by h4nc0 » Wed Jul 04, 2012 5:13 pm

Default template at 4% CPU? Is this normal or is something wrong? Anybody else?

Please benchmark against the latest 8.3 release version, and check if the 4% CPU charge is new to the 8.4 beta

yes, with same default template, 64bit shows 4% 32bit shows 1%. I will do more testing against 32bit version tomorrow and post back, but I did run a few things and CPU load does seem higher in the 64bit beta.

Deleted Ableton Live Beta 8 and reinstalled and problem is gone. I can report that I am getting lower CPU load (about 3-4%) than 32bit Ableton running some 32bit plugins using JBridgeM.

Ive noticed when the CPU meter gets really high there is no crackle normally it crackles at 70% but now it only does this if I drive it much higher. maybe they made the meter more accurate.

I am down 5% on my CPU load from v 8.2.
This is good news!
I never used 8.3 as it crashed frequently.
MAC OSX 10.6.8
2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 i5
4GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Running Live 8.2

Hi,

I take this as general good news. Should you see performance peaks or problems please add a new thread on this topic. I am locking this thread since the problem seems resolved.

best,
Mads
