Hi Tyson,

1) Please let us know under which circumstances this is not available.
2) On a win 7 / 64 bit I could not reproduce the crash deleting neither audio or midi data. Please send in the crash reports to crashes@ableton.com

Mads

I experienced this problem only after recovering a set when live has crashed.
Save and reopen the set solves the problem.

But this is not only a problem of Live 8.4bx because this also happens in older Live 8 versions (maybe in all versions).

I am using Mac OS-X 10.6.8

Confirmed!

Live 8.4b4 32 and 64 bit at OSX 10.6.8

Create a new set, record enable a midi track, click the clip slot to start the recording, delete the clip while recording and live crashed immediately.
Repeated the steps several times with always the same result.

This did not happen in Live 8.3.3

Hi,

The crash on deleting clip while recording, is fixed for the upcoming beta.

If you find more pointers as to why the overdub button misbehaves, please let us know how to reproduce this. I will keep this thread open for now, but we have the crash found & fixed and do not need additional information on this.

best,
Mads

Hi Mads,

The only misbehaving of the overdub button which ever happens to me is the scenario I had described in the post above (recovering a crashed set).
But this is repeatable and easy to reproduce and happens with earlier Live 8 versions as well.

PS: Deleting a clip while recording indeed now works without a crash :D

Hi Palmer,

Its extremely hard to guarantee a fail safe recall when recovering a crashed set. This also includes the states of i.e the overdub button, we have this tracked internally. In an ideal world Live would not crash at all :)
We are also happy to see the crash when deleting clip fixed, thanks for reporting that.

I am locking this thread since one bug is fixed, the other is tracked and known.

Best,
Mads
