New Valhalla DSP & Brainworx observation

Post by VoiceOfNature » Fri Sep 07, 2012 3:00 pm

Friends,

Valhalla DSP:
recently observed that the gui of the Valhalla DSP plugins, in their most recent versions @64 bit,
react very slow. The gui hangs, and reacts only after some time, seems as if one step ahead from crashing.
Afterwards it works, but not as smooth as with 8.3.3. @32bit

Brainworx:
as the only bx plugin, bx_xl (most recent version) provokes a very high CPU load, currently unusable.

Working with Live x64b6

Greetings

TWL

AddOn:
with the most recent Beta7 the Valhalla problem is gone.
The issue with bx_xl remains however.
Win 7 x64, CPU i7 1.73 GHz, SSD, RME Babyface / Fireface

Hi Voice,

Good the valhalla issue is resolved. Please let me know which version of the bx_xl you are using. Are you testing on OSX or PC?

Best,
Mads

bx_xl (most recent version) very high load with Windows 7 here. 32 bit version of Ableton.
A serious program error has occurred.
Live will shut down after this message box is closed.

Hello,

bx_xl is version 1.31.
The error occurs both under 32bit and 64bit Live equally.
This issue is luckily confirmed by The Philosopher King.

Looks like that from beta to beta the graphical reactions of Live change.
From a frozen sphere (while loading) to a working sphere,
and again frozen progress dots (...) during project loading.
And out of a sudden everything is ready and working without any prior indication that the project is loading properly at all....
Writing this because of the Valhalla DSp issue, which is gone now with Beta 7.

Greetings from afar

Hi,

The problem is reproduced and tracked internally. We have the information we need on the brainworx issue. Should you see new problems with Valhalla, please open a new thread on this.

Best,
Mads
