most synths not recognising note off, notes carry on

Been a user since v4, sold ableton 8 about 5 months back, fed up of waiting for 9, so got live again the other day, and where as in the past i have had the odd synth hang/notes no ending, but never with live 8, 8 was always good, but now the majority of my synth carry the last note on until the next midi part, so i have to automate the volume or bypass which is an absolute pain,But what is new is that now even some of the ableton instruments are doing the same, operator more so, but still early days into me testing.
Not sure what info is needed from me, if any can be given,as far as third party vst go, I have tone2 electrax and now the new suarus and rayblaster and all notes hang, previously electrax was fine up until i sold my license live 8.3.3 i think it was.
I am using windows 7, x64
sandybridge i7 3.4ghz 64bit
8Gb ram, recently done a memory check on my sticks,
M-audio fasttrack pro soundcard.
