When I load a new project, or switch to another project, the buffer settings go haywire. I have to switch them back to 44100. This happens often, and is really annoying.

Please tell us which hardware you are using and driver version.
For extensive testing -
- Do you experience this with a new (empty project) only using VST's?
- Do you experience this with a new (empty project) only using AU's?
We have seen reports of AU's not coping with dynamically changing buffersizes.
