It's clearer now what you mean. I can verify it works the same on Push 1 with the Clip Buttons.

start recording clip one, start recording clip 2, (both now recording)
NOW, are you in TRACK view? if not, GO TO TRACK VIEW....hehe....
NOW,
PRESS TRACK BUTTON (most top orangey button) ON TRACK WHICH HAS CLIP1,
magic

Hi there,
There's a fix in the latest beta that just came out.

YES!
It works just like I'd hope it would! Thank you so much, jur ... and everyone else. This is a really great thing!

Yay.
This is great. Thanks Ableton, n9 and everyone else involved in this discussion.
I think Push now works exactly as I wanted it to.
Just need to sell something now to fund a new Push 2.

Yes, thank you all. What I like about problem discussions like this is you advance your knowledge not only about the state and the possibilities of the Push and Live, but also what other people think is important and a little of how they want to make musicAliMc wrote:Yay.

But is your problem actually solved AliMC?
Really? I love PXT Live which almost works like I want. Unfortunately some native features are not available in the API.AliMc wrote: I think Push now works exactly as I wanted it to.
Not a chance here, at least not now.AliMc wrote: Just need to sell something now to fund a new Push 2.

Good point.Stromkraft wrote: But is your problem actually solved AliMC?
After watching n9's video, I think I might have been getting a little carried away. My process is a little different to n9s.
(Thanks to n9 for going to the effort of making the video)
My Push was in Note mode, rather than Session mode.
I would have an audio track (or several) recording an external source or resampling.
I would then try to record some MIDI into an already looping drum rack track by hitting the record button on Push, playing some pads, then hitting record again to stop the drum track recording.
The result would be that the Audio track(s) would also stop recording.
I'm not sure if this behaviour also applied to other MIDI tracks (non drum rack).
It would be greatly appreciated if anyone with Push and the latest beta installed could verify if this behaviour has also been fixed.
If this is fixed, it would be just about there for me (for the moment )Stromkraft wrote:Really? I love PXT Live which almost works like I want. Unfortunately some native features are not available in the API.AliMc wrote: I think Push now works exactly as I wanted it to.
I do always end up with "if only it could do this..." syndrome eventually though.
Anyway, I've just noticed the UK price for Push 2 has jumped up by £100, so it looks like it might take me a while to get hold of one.
I might try to pick up a used Push 1. They're going pretty cheap these days.
If I can just resist that shiny shiny screen.
Re: session workflow when recording more than one clip
well this is great. bought a push2 and upgrade to the new 9.6.2 from whatever 9.2 version i was using. upgraded the firmware on the push! And Bam! my workflow is ruined.
just spent 2 days trying to figure out if it was my fault.
So hopefully this get fixed. For now I am using my apc40 so i can record clips in sessions while recording an entire arrangement.. but I'm going to have to put duct tape over my push2 record button as at this point literally seems to serve no purpose and completely destroys and arrangement recording...
Could this be the answer to everyone bitching about push not able to global record control from the push?
I hope not.. else someone tell me what ive missed here, and why my push workflow does not work the way it has for the last few years or so...
