WHAT!?! Ahh man, I am now 100% sold. Push will be amazing and Ableton is in top form. I was actually hoping you guys would reach out and work with Hanz but thought it was a crazy pipe dream. Great to hear!Jesse wrote:I can't comment on future developments. Here's a secret: Hanz Petrov worked on Push with us.The APC40 came out... and functionality at the time of release was pretty much it. A lot of people asked for enhancements for years, but as far as I'm aware... none were made. Individual users spent a lot of time developing their own updates via python. Is that the plan for Push as well, or will official functionlity continue to evlove and improve over time with firmware updates etc?

Is this real life?

more questions :
- what are the grid editing functions available through push ?
(can you delete a clip using the controller for instance ? undo redo ?)
- can you 'multi select' clips or notes and apply changes (move/reverse/quantize etc.) using Push?
- is Pushs' functionality expandable with more controllers in any way?
(besides the sustain/expression on the back)
- will Push be able to 'lock' to clips and/or devices ?
- is there a future plan to support drum rack sends ?
on the same note... how is mixing/panning handled within racks/drumracks using Push ?
- aside from the pads and lcd ? are the rest of the buttons visible in a dark room ?
also...are there any physical indicators for the visually impaired ?
- will expanded groups /racks be visible through Push ?
- does Live9 now support more than 6 'control surfaces' script slots ?
because Ableton has already got 3 hw models ..(I'm guessing the 4th device announcement is coming soonish)
clyphx also takes 1 slot..touchable...LPC...etc

Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers
No sends? Damn that's the first thing I want to control in a drum kit. Seems like a huge oversight. Hopefully it gets added.Currently you can't access sends of a Drum Rack. Your wish is noted. How do you control drum rack sends from Push? Is it a quick button combo? And how to control the return devices too.
By the way I meant the return devices within the drum rack (like the reverb or delay the sends are sending to), not the main return tracks.

Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers
What can we expect the responsiveness/update latency to be like with Push?
I have a Launchpad and an APC40 currently, running on a Windows desktop and Laptop. The Launchpad has noticeable latency (100-500ms) when switching between pages or scrolling around the grid, and sometimes the pads don't update accurately. The APC40 has no noticeable latency or issues loading/lighting up the pads.
Is that likely a matter of bus-vs-AC power? Will performance change depending on power source?

better be robot than zombieIt's mostly robots running Ableton these days since the Singularity, so you shouldn't concern yourself with this.
Re: Ableton Push: Questions & Answers
Can you change the pitch space in Play Mode? For example, to change from default pitch space (5:1) to fifths by chromatic (7:1) or Longuet Higgings (4:7).
Thanks
Thanks

Thank you for all the answers so far. Can you tell if there will be pre-orders and if that will happen before Christmas or not?
