I wonder what the tolerances are on the current-limiting resistors on each led?...

+/-5% might be visible..

laptops are kind of usesless if the lcd screen dies and many synths aren't too useful if the lcd/vfd/led screen dies. It's the world we choose to create in :o

lo.key wrote:my greyscale monome had a similar colour variation, ive just learned to live with it. unless you obsess over it, it just fades from awareness. but ive been meaning to fiddle with the python script to rework the colour scheme anyways. its -useful- to have white, but its not necessary. im looking forward to experimenting :]
ps, do you folk find any difference with the power adaptor in?
They even have that problem in monomes? seems like the concept of $$$ = quality has completely lost its meaning :'(

I'm pretty sure Akai Professional is well past the 'hand made' stage at this point. :)

Now are white people out there all the same white colour? I think Ableton just wanted to show a sign... :D
No reply from Ableton, no support, so I assume they must be still drinking Champagne!

For Akai prod flow they for sure master the job.

But here a grayscale monome is at least for hm say +/- 50% a by-hand made device, it's a fact, and agree the discitive or unique traits even those we could consider "defects" if 100% made from a big-bro like Akai pro or Korg...

monome is a little business with the "less is more" manner of making business, they must but try to rely on exterior partners the less they can do.

BTW I'd be happy my upcoming 256 having its own little weird thing like "not the same yellow pad everywhere" or other :D

Yeah sorry dude I wrote my shit while you posted,, despite having saw your sketchy post I submited my shit anyway : it was boring to write lol >>> anyway the "monome has a flaw then monome has its signature then each monome is a jewel.

Another Push owner with white/red/blue and in between colors all over place. I submitted a ticket to Ableton yesterday, so I'm waiting for their reply.

I'm glad I found this thread. I was beginning to think I had a defective device. My whites are slightly pink and one pad is more so that it's bothering the hell out of me. I was about to call for a return of the product but then I thought about it and quite possibly can get something worse back… :-) My thoughts are that it's probably just the design of the LEDs in each pad. It's probably nothing to worry about other than the visual…
