Problem with Fixed Length and Toggle Launch Mode

I have the Toggle Launch Mode as my default for new clips. When I have Fixed Length selected on Push, the clip will be created and instantly stops. I can not overdub on the clips at all when Fixed Length is enabled. Is there a way to fix this or is Fixed Length Mode just not compatible with the Toggle Launch Mode?
