I love looking at it as a fret board.
First thing I did was teach myself the chord triad.

Wait, is this some thinly veiled euphemism...

I like to switch it up. Otherwise you'll end up with just one hairy palmSuburbanThug wrote:Wait, is this some thinly veiled euphemism...

I play sort of similar to how I play a keyboard: left hand does lower notes, lots of octaves or fifths, and the right hand does melody parts higher up
One thing that I realized last night that's pretty cool, is that I can reach 3 octaves with one hand - I can basically hold down a low bass note with my thumb, while simultaneously playing a melody two or three octaves up, on top with my fingers

I use both, but I think I'm left-dominant on it. Left hand plays melodies, right hand harmonizes above that.
Re: right hand, left hand or both for playing push
i found myself using left because of where i could put it on my desk....i moved things around and tried right side and felt weird...im not a traditional piano player, only played a little, so not sure best way to approach using two hands with this
i think im gonna watch that Jordan Rudess tutorial see how to approach it using both hands
