Problems with sustain pedal port on Push. It's reversed?
Hi
So my sustain pedal port on my Push works in reverse. For some reason, when I don't press the pedal, the notes sustain, and when I press the pedal down, notes enter the release phase right away.
I tried restarting both Push, Ableton and my computer, but with no effect.
Anyone had this problem and found a solution?

People have been purchasing pedals with polarity switches to deal with this. Kinda dumb that they've had to do that.
Re: Problems with sustain pedal port on Push. It's reversed?
I think that this might be pretty standard fair regarding sustain pedals and hardware units in general.
Every unit I have had since the '90's (controllers and synths) has been set to a particular polarity and you have to get a pedal that matches that unit.

^^absolutely true. some bits of hardware tout their ability to "sense" the polarity of a connected footswitch at startup as a great selling-point.

Wow, didnt realize that. Its just a cheap pedal I own, but until now, it worked as it should with the units I used.
Oh well, you live, you learn.
Thanks guys.

Also fixable through max for live, if you've got it.

Added a feature request - Push pedal ports
Re: Problems with sustain pedal port on Push. It's reversed?
I read somewhere (manual?) that if you hold down the pedal while starting Push (or was it Live?) then the polarity will be correct on those pedals that seem backwards.
Re: Problems with sustain pedal port on Push. It's reversed?
I leave my pedal plugged into my keys and use Push on any ch. strip, "Midi From" set to All.
But everyone works differently. All works well for me this way.

Dennis DeSantis mentioned that in another thread, but unfortunately it does not currently work like that.DeNwA wrote:I read somewhere (manual?) that if you hold down the pedal while starting Push (or was it Live?) then the polarity will be correct on those pedals that seem backwards.

For anyone still dealing with this... here's a device that will reverse the polarity if needed.
