Drum rack workflow/organisation for techno?

Just wondering how people work with drum racks to produce dance music?

In the past I've used Guru, and routed the first 4 pads out to a 'kicks' channel, next 4 to snare/clap channel and so on. When its bounced to audio it makes it easy to see whats happening in the arrangement view, but with drum racks if its all in midi clips you loose that at a glance reference.

I was thinking about using a separate drum rack for each group of drum sounds.

Do you find it easier to have a separate drum rack for each group of drum sounds, and bus them to a drum channel, or do people tend to just use one rack for all their drums? Am I missing some other way of working?

lots of ways to do this. for comprehensibility i like to keep my different drum groups on separate tracks. and for the record, bussing isn't really necessary when you can group tracks instead (drum racks function a bit like groups, but can be grouped themselves).

i like Nerve a lot for drum programming, but it doesn't play as nicely with Push as drum racks (obvs), so i haven't been using it as much lately.
