Hi all,

Just noticed that Stray is starting to drop some PXT-Live vids into his Youtube Channel

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL ... yPwR4boy3d

This will really help those of us struggling to get our heads around the ins and outs of this amazing Push extension

Cheers
Jed

Working fine for me, are you on 56k? :)

There's so much to cover with PXT-Live as it's more thorough than default Push but Stray did a great job with these.

One thing I would have also have mentioned in Part 3. Encoder Mode - Track 2:25 is that you get Level meters with the selected tracks on the Push display.

I spent a LOT of time with PXT-Live during beta testing but I learned a few things from these Vids.

Nice work Stray. Looking forward to future videos.

Can some one tell me something about the Polyphone and monophonic Note Mode stepsequencing ?

It seems to be very interesting !

The Polyphonic step sequencer allows you to see all your notes (8 at a time of course) in relation to each other going across 8 steps at a time. The 8 steps change depending on how granular you are looking at your loop i.e 1/16, 1/32 etc.

The Monophonic step sequencer allows you to select and play across a few octaves and step sequence the pad you have selected. Similar to how the drum rack works.

Both step sequencer methods are superior to default Push step sequencer in one particular way. You can edit a section of your loop without affecting what is playing. The two things are separated.
Meaning; that you can have a 2 bar loop playing but you can be editing either the 1st or 2nd bars without the pads following the playhead. They HAVE to implement this on default Push imho.

Hope that all made sense. Stray is sure to get some more videos out soon explaining this better.

Stray really outdid himself here.. excellent work!.
The videos are a bit fast to digest but give you a good overview of how powerful Push can be using PXT.
Like he said in the video, you don't have to use all it's functionality, but there are quite few features that I find myself wanting.
It seems like a lot to take on while still getting Pushes defaults under your belt..

WOW! This dude is amazing! I have yet to buy PXT but after watching the vids I really think I'm going to.
This is functionality that should have been implemented by Ableton.

Godd job Stray!!!!

I'm not at push right now and will have to watch the videos again, but off the top of my head I like keeping focus on a track while navigating away and one part where he was firing clips.. Sorry can't remember anymore at the moment, I'm mobil…

Watching the videos I'm overwhelmed by the features.

The new button for a midi clip and shift for an audio clip routed to it. Shift record for arrange and overdub when in arrange.
The encoder modes have a wealth of functionality, to much to mention.. nice work!

Aussie dsl feels like it sometimes!

Working no though. Stray's comment on only trying to learn what you need is important as pxt-live ties push to the UI in so many cool ways but there's a lot to remember!. In the beta I thought I could work through the whole manual start to finish but that just didn't work for me as I was trying to write some tracks also. So in the end I focused on the note editing and clip launching features. These videos are a great help keep em coming!
