Anyone else agree?
It's only optimized for it's own sound set, which I assume for most advanced musicians doesn't cut it. I have ~1000 sound sets from drum hits to VST presets that've collected over a decade. I should be able to easily dial them up in my Push workflow. Otherwise, the entire time I'm jamming on Push, I'm using sound set that isn't mine, that in now way reflects the sound I've cultivated for years.
I've tried as many methods as I can get my hands on for custom categories, saving presets as instrument racks, custom drum kits, even keyboard macros, but it just _does_not_cut it. If Push is to live up to it's potential, it needs to respect musicians that have spent years developing their sound outside of the Ableton stock.
I seriously hope this is top of mind for the Push team. And please – the moment that there is beta out that fixes this issue, please let me know. Because as it stands, for me, the Push is a mouse and screen compliment (even while I'm just jamming) rather than alternative, which completely flies in the face of what was promised.
Push's largest shortcoming has got to be it's browser...

I still don't understand the problems people have with the browser. Using the User Library, everything is organized well automatically. From VST presets to drum samples...
Are you using the User Library/Places?

It's ok, I just wish it wasn't so organized by pack and instrument. If there were broad categories like "Bass" (not tags, categories), or "Breakbeats" I'd be faster getting what I wanted.
I don't have issues figuring out how it works now, just that in the creative moment I want a Lead Synth, not to figure out which pack might have it first. Put them all in one location.

The issue is I need to rack up my VSTs for every preset and save it. Then map my categories to Abletons. I have hundreds of presets. It's a mess of a work around. Further I can't access my own drum sample libraries when swapping a pad in drum racks.Logic8807 wrote:I still don't understand the problems people have with the browser. I know that each person works in their own way with Live and with push.
I've never had much interest in being able to browse every single preset of every single vst that I have.
It seems it'd take so much precious music making time.
And it is a pain as it is even browsing the standard presets.....
