Return to default.

Post by ned rush » Fri Nov 22, 2013 3:57 pm

In ableton if you select an parameter and hit delete it puts it back to default value eg sets a volume fader to zero.

Can you do this on Push? Hold a button and touch an encoder and it's back to default value?

If not *bangs fist on table* WHY NOT?!

Thank you please

:)

So far it's not officially implemented, but check out Stray's Push script mod:

"Shift + tapping the Display Encoders twice will reset parameter values."

Stray's PXT-Live script allows return to default with Shift + double tap on encoder. However, I've just noticed that the normal Push mode also allows return to default with Shift + double tap. I don't actually know when this feature arrived but it defiantly has from somewhere. Maybe the 9.1 update.

5 mins later. :)

I have found out that the reason my normal Push mode has Shift + doublo tap to reset to default is because I have the free Stray PUSH SCRIPT MODS installed which gives some extended functionality to normal Push mode.

Allows Shift + Display Encoders to finely adjust parameter values. Fine adjustment does not apply to Browse or Clip Modes. Also, Shift + tapping the Display Encoders twice will reset parameter values.

Allows Shift + Record to toggle Arrangement Record.

Allows Step Sequencer input to be velocity-sensitive so that steps turned on will have the velocity that the corresponding button sent.

Allows use of the SeaPush color scheme (created by Ableton forum user triant).

True.
It should be officially implemented , it 's so important and useful feature.
We cannot mesh all the time with external scripts , especially when it comes to such an indispensable attribute.

Please Ableton take care of it.

Sorry to stray off topic (hehe) but with the 1.1.1 update to this mod, is anyone else experiencing that 'shift-record button' is not enabling arrangement record?

^^ That option is turned off by default. You can turn it on in the provided UserSettings file.

@manutech, I agree that it should be officially implemented, but the mods mentioned here are not external scripts, they're modifications to the existing Push script.
