Push (literally) gathering dust
Push (literally) gathering dust
I just got Push and so far it's absolutely wicked!
All the awesomeness aside, I noticed something very intriguing (and annoying).
Push is a dust literal dust magnet. I don't know why but Push seems to collect dust at an alarming rate, especially the rubber pads. The dust also seems to "stick" on them and is difficult to remove using conventional methods like a cloth.
Just curious if I'm the only one who noticed this and how you deal with it.

I keep my hear covered when not in use.
Or I used to... I got lazy.
So yeah. That'll be your preventative tip, for after your issue is worked out.

Or get yourself a genuine ostrich feather keyboard duster. They come with hollow handles and retractable feathers, dyed in a wide range of psychedelic colours.

A good way to clean dust that has not settled for a long time is to use a very soft bristle paint brush and just paint your Push with it. We always used paint brushes at the repair shop to clean dust out of hard to reach places in music equipment (between knobs, in cracks etc).
If it's really bad you can use a little bit of Windex sprayed into a soft cloth. Just wipe gently with it and the nice thing about it is that it evaporates very quickly so it's pretty safe to use on most anything. Obviously don't rub super hard but I've used it on just about every type of music equipment and have never damaged anything.

I've used the swiffer hand-held dusters to get between the keys of my MIDI keyboards. I like the paint brush idea better, thanks!Airyck wrote:A good way to clean dust that has not settled for a long time is to use a very soft bristle paint brush and just paint your Push with it. DUST not PUSH
Re: Push (literally) gathering dust
What ever happened to that official Push cover/stand?

Re: Push (literally) gathering dust
Yeah, it's kinda stupid that Push has the bogus rails on the sides for an 'official cover' that they never released. Seems really half hearted and awkward. I would love an official case/cover; other than that I reckon my Push would look a lot nicer without the cutouts on the sides, which make it seem a lot cheaper and less durable. If the casing was all one piece (Top + bottom) it would feel and look a lot more solid.

Re: Push (literally) gathering dust
the best cover for the push is the decksaver even if there is an offical cover it wont be better than a decksaver its worth the £30 or so for peace of mind we have paid £400 for the push why not go another £30 wish i had bought one sooner hope this helps people with a push you wont regret buying one
Re: Push (literally) gathering dust
I think they said here there were manufacturing issues, and they could get the fit as nice as they wanted.Airyck wrote:What ever happened to that official Push cover/stand?
