Insert Instrument of existing track

Post by wildcon » Sun Jan 12, 2014 12:15 am

Hi there,

This may be me being dull, but:

Is it possible to insert an instrument from Push on an 'existing' midi track.

I have Waves channel strips on my template tracks and don't really want to have to keep inserting new tracks to load an instrument.

Thanks

I think you can just select the track and then hit Browse?

if you have a track with effects but no instrument, then there are two ways (that i know of) to add an instrument.

firstly, if you have MIDI effects on the track, then select the innermost (rightmost) MIDI effect (so it has the blue hand). then if you press Add Effect, the instrument browser appears.

secondly, if you have audio effects on the track, then again the innermost (leftmost) audio effect must be selected. then, pressing Shift + Add Effect will bring up the instrument browser...

if you have both MIDI and audio effects on the track, then either method works...
