I just got a new Push after almost 11 weeks of waiting, and it's definitely not the first generation. For those of you who have the first batch, you know the pads are a little hard, with a rough surface. The new ones are soft, smooth and a joy to use. The responsiveness is also far better than the one I got first. Very happy with this!
About a quarter of the pads still need recalibration from pink to white, but there's probably a prize for whoever can automate that

Sounds cool... Would it be possible to replace the old ones for the early adopters among us?

What really? Was this publicly announced? if not why not.. Ableton should win a prize for the least informative company around.

That seems like it would be an expensive operation. I expect they won't :/

Seems like a stealth update. And yeah, they're playing the same John Cage cover all the time :)

Well at the moment i am happy with my push. If it truly is a huge 'upgrade', then i hope for a possibility to get this as well. Would pay for it.

Yeah, the pads are the best I've tried so far. I don't feel like I'm going to get blisters while using it for a few hours, while the old ones were like rocks.

I kinda like the fact that they feel like congos (or whatever kind of hand drumkit). Do yours feel anything like gummybears, or more sturdy?

Not quite gummybears, but we'll see what they do with the next revision :P

Since it's only the pads maybe they can be upgraded, there was a video fo a guy opening Push and while it seemed time consuming reaplceing the pads doesnt seemed that hard.

Just asked Ableton support about the Pads. They have not changed them at all throughout production so it may be your mind playing tricks on you if they 'feel' different.
I don't mind them as they are, but if the next generation Push had very slightly softer pads I'd be happier.

Maybe there was something more wrong with my original Push then :)
Definitely more responsive than the original, though, which is why I returned it in the first place.

I had one of the very first units, and I just got a brand new one to replace it for warranty issues. No difference at all in my pads.

They still feel nicer to me. I'm going to enjoy this hallucination, no matter what the doctor says :)

No worries, I could have SWORN my new one had brighter lighting for the lettering. Then I compared to a friends older one and it was exactly the same. The mind is a powerful thing
