Ableton Push's new low price... new Push coming?
Just saw PUSH's new lower price and wonder if that means a new version might be in the works?
thx.

Yes. The new one will cost $2,000. It is all over the news. Just check ComputerMusic or musicradar. Or the Ableton page. I even got emails. So don't bother getting the old push

Guys, chill out, I was just wondering why they lowered the price of PUSH.
Re: Ableton Push's new low price... new Push coming?
In a lot of cases, companies like to see a lot of sales. Normally they try to go for a standard price. When they lower that price it seems like a really good deal to the consumer. Then they sell more. It looks good on paper, especially just as the season is coming.
And since the season is coming, more people are likely to buy any and everything for more reasons. Either for themselves because they are looking for seasonal deals, Or for others, and a lowered price just-in-time will give people that tiny bit more incentive to choose Push over Maschine.
Or a new Push is coming out. But there are zero indicators that this would be the case. I feel like they are barely caught up with the initial release.
Also, Push is extremely rugged/sturdy. I imagine that it is not the cheapest controller on the market to build from a manufacturing standpoint. Because of this, I don't see why or how they would make the current version essentially obsolete quite yet by coming out with a version 2. Not to mention that a version 2 would probably have to Justify their upgrading it. Which would mean entirely new code, new design, new materials, and new Concept. I don't think that the Ableton company could keep their sanity if they tried releasing a Push 2.

What new low price anyway?
It's the winter sale (mid november to mid january).
You may want to subscribe to Ableton's newsletter.
