Maybe you can sell it for more than that in 20 years when it's rare vintage gear.TomViolenz wrote:
I'll probably just keep it then, because lower than 350€ would just piss me off.

No, by that time it will be sold out of my estate for 10 000 as the original TomViolenz Push. (At least that's what I keep telling myself to get through the days )
I will already have died by that time of course. All the hookers and blow just catch up with you, you know?!

I really like the look of the screen. For those who have seen it in the flesh, is it kinda like the OP-1 OLED screen? Naturally deep black with vivid colors?
I love how things like synth Waveform shapes or even filters types are shown as actual icons in parameter adjustment. This almost turns Push 2 into an incredibly powerful modern hardware synth.

So it sounds like I'll be able to edit samples with Push, I just won't be able to see it on the screen. But I'll be able to see everything on my monitor? or Laptop screen? If so, I'm fine with that.tom_d wrote:So far it sounds like the visual sample editing is the main thing Push 1 will miss out.Sternenlicht wrote:Hmm, what i dont understand is: why should i upgrade from Push1 to Push2, is there something what Push 1 cant do ?
The layout looks similar. Only for the improved LCD ?
But that Push II does look good. I shouldn't do it.... but I'm probably going to anyway.

Anyway, it's irrelevant. I can't make use of the deal, because ZA is not one of the participating countriesAngstrom wrote:I've been chuckling at this deal for a while.re:dream wrote:Yikes. This is the thing about hardware. You can't get free upgrades. I am going to investigate that 30% discount
Here's how I understand the Trade In deal. "Give Ableton your Push1 and get no money whatsoever, we will give it to a child"
"We will then give you 30% off a Push 2"
Or to put it another way : if you send us a Push 1 we will give you £149 in vouchers for it.
I don't know what the market value for a used Push 1 is, but I'm guessing more than that.

I guess so, Jesse seemed to suggest that we'd get a lot more Simpler functionality in the next beta which will be "very soon" so let's see!thunderkyss wrote: So it sounds like I'll be able to edit samples with Push, I just won't be able to see it on the screen. Tell me about it. That screen... (and while I do find the way Push 1 languished without significant updates for a while kind of annoying, I have also had a lot of fun both playing with and hacking it so I feel like I've got my money's worth)thunderkyss wrote: But that Push II does look good. Re: Push 2
So what's up with the browser? Can you get to your samples quickly without having to scroll to 'places' at the bottom of the first browse menu? Will the browser remember your last folder so you don't have to go deep into your hierarchy all over again? Can you duplicate pads on drum racks? Is the sample playback and browsing super fast like maschine? All the other features are nice but the terrible browser prevented me from getting into that push (with maschine I was flying around in minutes). Can you mappings of plugins? Cuz if you can't their usefulness is pretty limited. Thanks
Re: Push 2
For those who have had their hands on the new push, will the Push 1 decksaver work on the Push 2? Just ordered the Push 2 and hoping my decksaver will work on it. Used the 30% off and got my shipping info with all the return information.
Ableton did a good job and thought this through, as you are not left alone one day without Push. You don't return your Push1 until your new one arrives. Very nice!
