Re: Push 2 Scales
yes...but I get only this answer: No sorry.starving student wrote:have you emailed support about it and what did they say?
Reality...:
Push1 (settings: only sequential mode in Normal mode) (NOT AVAIBLE IN PUSH 2 !!!!!)
Push2 (in limited User mode only - chromatic))
Push1 and Push2 in Normal mode (not User) custom scales: only by Python script (not official supported)
in Push2: I find out this solution, in User mode:
Kontakt 5, etc:
YOU =) >> Your Push 2 >> your MAC or PC (> Ableton Live settings MIDI> User mode in and out )) >> Create MIDI Channel (Kontakt5, etc) >> MIDI Rack Fx > 64xMIDI Pitch Shift Fx (2 shifting every note/pad (<=64)) (in MIDI Rack Fx) > create MIDI Ch (one empty MIDI 'LED' channel > Channel OUT=Ableton Push 2 User Mode - And You Get LED feedback
Here is Two (relative four) Scale (or what you want,Chromatic Without Assymmetric Note Duplications, etc.) but only in limited user mode :/

I can you send the (only in user mode) channelstrip preset in private if you need it.

Re: Push 2 Scales
This is not how Push 1 works with Live 9.6b1. Shift > Sequent> does not lay out a chromatic scale.tedlogan wrote:On Push 1, if you held shift+scale, you could change the layout of the pads completely, whether in chromatic or scale made. For example, you could have the bottom row be sequential all the way across - 8 semitones in sequence, then the first pad from row 2 would be the 9th semitone after that, and so on.
The manual states;
So it's about the range of the scale, not all 12 notes. If you use A Major the first row in this layout goes the A major scale but with each note one octave or more higher: A1, B2, C#4, D5, E6, F#7. I you go vertically and start over at the next column you'll get the normal scale."The “Sequent” options lay out all notes in order. These options are useful if you need a very large range of notes available, because they have no duplicated notes."
If this was different before it was Live itself or the Push firmware that worked differently.
As have already been said all notes can be had already, If you choose Chromatic mode you will get the 12 notes that exist in western music. If 12 notes is what you want Chromatic mode is what you want. Surely Chromatic mode exists in Push 2? If it isn't then the manual must be wrong.
The Live manual states about the Push 2:
28.5.1 Playing in Other Keys"In Chromatic Mode, the pad grid contains all notes. Notes that are in the key are lit, while notes that are not in the key are unlit"

Aha, So this is what (everyone?) wants in Push 2? It's not about Chromatic, but about the scale layout and repeated notes?pr_sounddesigns wrote:Can I set all 64 pads to different notes, effectively the same as a keyboard, for synths, Kontakt 5 etc, without so much note duplications?

Yes, Custom scales and tunings would be wonderful. I don't really see a reason for not having total freedom for users in this area.
