Push 2 Scales
Re: Push 2 Scales
The fixed button just changes what the root note is at the bottom-left corner of the scale. It doesn't change the scale mode at all, only the root note for the starting lower-left pad. Not sure why you are saying this...
Re: Push 2 Scales
Actually, this hasn't been implemented (yet, finger crossed ).

I misunderstood what it was people were asking for, sorry about that.akeven wrote:The fixed button just changes what the root note is at the bottom-left corner of the scale. Re: Push 2 Scales
I dunno, what is wrong with chromatic mode? And if you want a conventional keyboard, the Arturia MiniLab is available for $99 and includes a wonderful set of instruments in Instrument Lab...
Or, you could go with a Native Instruments S-88..
But I'm still not sure what you're asking for.... there are PLENTY of inexpensive auxiliary controller that can be used along with Push 2.

Re: Push 2 Scales
That's what I'm not understanding, why doesn't chromatic mode work for this?

Re: Push 2 Scales
On Push 1, if you held shift+scale, you could change the layout of the pads completely, whether in chromatic or scale made. For example, you could have the bottom row be sequential all the way across - 8 semitones in sequence, then the first pad from row 2 would be the 9th semitone after that, and so on.
I never used it though.

Re: Push 2 Scales
I have a perfectly good midi keyboard, and maybe I'm alone in thinking the Push-2 should be able to access ALL notes across the pads sequentially. I just thought it would come in handy for things like using Kontakt or any other Drum VST programs, as some notes/sounds will get missed if I choose any particular scale.

Re: Push 2 Scales
Not if you know your scales. Although I would really like to see a momentary toggle that would allow one to use an occasional accidental in "in Key" mode (one would usually assign it to the note that is different between the major and harmonic minor related scales (e.g. G,G# in the key of C, A(h)m/E Phrygian. So one could use the dominant chord of the related harmonic minor (E, rather than Em)akeven wrote:I have a perfectly good midi keyboard, and maybe I'm alone in thinking the Push-2 should be able to access ALL notes across the pads sequentially. Re: Push 2 Scales
Why has my post been moved into this thread with no notification!? This shouldn't be lumped into a general scales discussion this was specific to the additional note options functionality as mentioned in the title post now lost in the garbage (with all due respect to op and issues in this post). Just because we access this functionality via scales button in the past doesn't mean it's related to this thread!
unnecessary meddling mr moderator as we now have to read through unrelated issues to find an answer to a specific question .

Re: Push 2 Scales
Can I set all 64 pads to different notes, effectively the same as a keyboard, for synths, Kontakt 5 etc, without so much note duplications? NOT IN LIMITED USER MODE!!!
