Re: Push 2 - Nobody´s missing audio clip chopping from PXT?
That said...
This Video shows a much more complex functionality of clip playback features.
I admit that I´m not asking for this all (but wouldn´t suffer to have it).
The thing is that I even call the new simpler slicing methods too complex.
A bit trapped in loosing simplicity.
I just want to use the pads to control start point and loop length of audio files...
(yes, without slicing modes, slice to midi, transient based slice etc...)

PXT clip chopping and looping should be a native function for live
i can't believe it isn't

Re: Push 2 - Nobody´s missing audio clip chopping from PXT?
Long time since visiting the ableton board... I was quite happy with my Push 1 and PXT-Live, but was thinking to upgrade to Push 2 anyway. Seeing my primary use of PXT isn't working anymore makes me doubt big time.
Having audio clips and on the fly picking small chunks or changing loop start with the pads was lots of fun.
Do the new features of Push 2 outweigh the loss of PXT-Live? Reading a bit on the nativeKONTROL forum, it seems Stray hasn't even started on getting PXT to work on the new Push script (if possible at all).

Re: Push 2 - Nobody´s missing audio clip chopping from PXT?
All I can say is that I hope ableton is paying him to make it work in push 2 natively..... of all people and developers no one should have to explain this desire to ableton, they should be leading the way. lets get it together!!!

That's my hope too. Big fan of Stray's work, but my Push 2 is on the way!starving student wrote:All I can say is that I hope ableton is paying him to make it work in push 2 natively

IMO they do, yes.borg wrote: Having audio clips and on the fly picking small chunks or changing loop start with the pads was lots of fun.

You can do almost the same thing thanks to the displayed Waveform.
Just have to use Audio Tracks and not the new Simpler-Slice Features based on Midi-Tracks.
The Problem is you need to use the Encoders do define your "small chunks" and loop length.
Thats not half as handy than using the Pads like PXT/Push 1
But it is possible.
No more possible is automated Scale change.
There´s no workaround and that´s my biggest drawback with Push 2.

Thanks Stefan!
I still don't know... Just had a discussion on another forum about gearlust, and I've been on holiday to Iceland and still waiting for the VISA bill.
Push1, Touchable and vestax VCM600 still serve me well.
Besides, I've got an elektron MD I first need to learn inside out.
