Push's Pad brightness in daylight is unusable

Post by theinfinate » Sat Jan 02, 2016 6:42 am

Does anyone know of a way to use the Push in daylight? I have a busking setup that i have made, even made a beach umbrella holder for it but still i can't see any lights on the Push at all. I have the push plugged into a powered USB so it is a bit brighter but still i can not see anything. Has anyone had any luck using Push at gigs during the day? Maybe the launchpad is brighter?

This is an issue with ANY controller I've used at outdoor gigs sadly, they all can be hard to see in bright light. Heck, even my Elektrons used to be a PITA to use in those situations, the LED lights disappear.

Push is much brighter if you use the mains power adaptor...

Doesn't matter if your USB hub is powered or not, at least it doesn't for mine.

powered USB hubs don't add any addition power into the USB cord. You need to use AC power cord for additional power.

Just received my push 2. I actually forgot to plug in the power cable, but didn't have any problems with neither the pads or the display regarding brightness. I plugged it in afterwards and man, this thing is so bright I can't imagine that anyone has problems with it in daylight.

There is an issue with pad brightness during daylight by the window (plugged in). Especially in sequencers where low velocity buttons are dim. Ableton needs to release "umbrella" accessory. :)

I thought you had to use the power supply with the Push 2? Not so?

Apparently not. Works alright without the power supply.

You can turn down the pad brightness too in the Set Up menu.
