Quickst way to access 3rdparty inst presets frm Push2 cont?

Post by 4T » Mon Feb 01, 2016 11:04 pm

I'm new to Push & Ableton so I apologize if my question is common knowledege. I wasn;t able to find much online or in this forum regarding this specifically.

For this example, I'l use Massive.

How can I browse the Massive factory presets from the Push 2 controller? I'm aware that this most probably isn't possible but was curious to know of any work arounds. In Maschine (other than Massive) I would have to save each 3rd party preset as the native instruments format. This took a lot of time but worked perfectly and allowed me to scroll through and audition all presets from the hardware alone.

I've noticed that in Ableton I can only save instrument presets as .fxb or .fxp files but these don't show up in Lives browser so aren't useful via Push 2.

Any suggestions or is it simply not possible?

Thanks in advance

http://www.audiomodder.com/

That has preset browser for Massive but is designed for the whole Komplete 10 package so will slug you 40 clams even if you only want Massive.

I also have a number of preset packs for Push (omnisphere/trilian/sylenth) as does Lovelite here. I created my own Massive (Komplete) browser mainly because I wanted the instrument racks to also contain an EQ8 and yes, you need to save each preset as an instrument rack which I use a script to do.

It does make a big improvement to Push tho being able to browse sounds directly from VSTs. Makes it feel much more integrated.

I am actually thinking of releasing packs for just Massive/Reaktor etc since I have been asked for it from people that don't own the Komplete package and just want a single instrument. If you do have K10U then the audiomodder is probably the way to go.
