Re: Programming/hacking Push 2 - Official Info from Ableton
Hello everyone!
I am a relatively new Ableton (and Push 2) user exploring the different aspects of both.
I was wondering, if I wanted to create some custom functionality for the Push 2 (using the pads, knobs, and buttons in to drive custom functionality/plugins inside of Ableton [and possibly creating custom display graphics]), does anyone know the best way to go about that?
I have looked at the Push-Interface Manual on Github (https://github.com/Ableton/push-interfa ... -interface) and I think I understand the theory (sending messages with certain commands and receiving information from the Push), but I'm still a little confused on actually how to execute on that knowledge (e.g. how to format/send sysex commands to the Push 2 and receive and process information from the Push 2 [pad presses, knob turns, etc.]).
I have been learning JUCE on the side through YouTube tutorials; would you use JUCE to create a custom plugin to then interface with the Push 2 (and if so, would you create graphical elements this way)? If so, how? If not, are there any other methods? (and either way, are there any resources for learning type of information?)
I'm realizing that this is a little bit of a question barrage, really just looking for a place to start
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
From,
Stephen
