Push 2 crashes Ableton Live 9.6.1 every time

Hi. I've been corresponding back and forth with Ableton tech support about this issue. I have a Macbook Pro with El Capitan (OS X 10.11.4). I decided to take advantage of the Ableton 9 Live Suite + Push 2 package a couple of weeks ago. I downloaded Ableton Live 9.6.1, installed, and am able to use without issue. There are no other versions of Live running on my laptop. When Push 2 arrived a few days ago, I plugged it in (directly, using the factory cable, not using a hub), and Live crashed. I've sent about a dozen crash reports to Ableton support, and have emailed back and forth with them daily. While professional and courteous, they are of absolutely no help.
So far, at Ableton support's suggestion, I have done the following:
*new MIDI configuration
*reset Live
*disconnected third party audio interface
*tried with and without power adapter
*deleted Audio/MIDI driver files
*uninstalled third party virus detection and security software
According to tech support, the crash files I'm sending are not providing them with the cause of the crash ("But they're CRASH files. Isn't that their whole purpose?").
So, Push 2 crashes Live 9.6.1 on a Macbook Pro with El Capitan. Help?
