as work arounds go using the simpler is quite elegant, but even so I bet this gets sorted by Live 10!

im waiting for this too. most of my loops are done in clips as there seems to be more control of trigger states like toggle, gate etc and it loops indefinitely unlike in simpler without having to muck around.

New push. User here, though not new to live...just adding my voice to this. Audio loops are a huge part of what i do I live I really hope its near the top of the heap for update soon!

Its amazing how maschine and ableton each get this almost right but wrong enough to be horrible; the desktop workflow on live it perfect so just having the same experience in clips that you get in simpler would rock.

Looks like this still isn't a feature...!?

Ableton developers, PLEASE get on top of this.

Triggering and editing clips is something that the push 2 hardware is perfect for, just connect it. .

A potential workaround might be to temporarily switch off global quantize. Not sure if you can do that on the push? But that doesn't address the apparent TOTAL lack of warp marker editing on the push.

I'm hoping I'm missing something... Is there any way to edit warp markers from push!?

Herein lies the problem...
There is no way to precisely adjust the start point (aka "start offset") of your loop.

The start point is quantized, meaning that it jumps forward and backward in large chunk increments. By default it jumps by one bar, but you can hold shift and it will jump by quarter-bar increments. The irony is that we haven't precisely looped our sample yet, so the "one bar" quantized chunks are completely arbitrary.

I don't have my original Push where I am now, but I distinctly remember the default being 16ths. I'm not sure if there's a difference between MIDI and audio clips though. Are you sure you can set precise clip starts in the Live GUI but not from the Push 2?

Have you turned off the grid and it doesn't make a difference?

This is actually stuff that just should work. What is the Push 2 sold as if not an audio clip machine? It doesn't make sense to limit really simple stuff like start and end points to only Simpler.

16ths would at least be closer. Buy really it needs to be a fine control.

Your last paragraph is 1,000% on point.

Yeah. It could be it's the protocol in use that lacks possibilities for finer resolution, but I don't see that as being impossible. It's not like Ableton mush adhere to what some external committee thinks.

The ability to do this in Simpler seemingly would contradict that, however. I have to check this with my original Push tomorrow.

Push 2 here, just bought suite...

IMHO, even if they made a workaround ie. Convert to simpler, convert back to clip... As long as it wasn't too long winded, it would be something. But this is a very core sampling concept as the OP pointed out (a long time ago)

I gave up on it and havent checked lately. If it looks like it is still missing, I would imagine that ableton just doesnt care to add it

Having recently bought a Push 2, I'm super surprised that this feature hasn't been added. I'm working with loops recorded live from a modular synth, which is meant to be in sync, but sometimes having fine adjustment on the loop start position is essential. The 0.0.1 increments are not fine enough. Makes the Push feel a bit cheap. I'd rather not have to touch the mouse to adjust this, especially as the manual adjustment is reflected so smoothly on the Push2 display!

It seems Simpler can't adjust the start position of a loop without actually cropping the loop to that start position, rather than changing the initial position of the playhead on trigger, as the standard audio clip editor Start Marker does.

I hope they sort this soon. This thread is 4 years old, but still 100% relevant!

My first frustration after buying Push 2. Love being able to sample and see the waveform on the Push but as it stands it's just a pretty visual. Very surprised by this.

I think you have to do it with simpler. It's clunky AF. Workflow is for shite. Anyone got any magic workarounds? Ableton, fix this plz.

It is very odd. Especially because they advertise recording records and sampling as something Push can do. Youd assume that you wouldnt have to do the actual loop points with the mouse
