Push 1 going forward?

Post by sporkles » Wed Nov 08, 2017 11:53 am

Push 2 looks absolutely gorgeous with Live 10, but for those of us who still have the first generation Push, which likely has a very low aftermarket value: will Push 1 still be a solid companion for Live? Will it get new updates as Live gains new features?

I don't think it will gain new features but surely it will keep being supported, it will keep working.

If it involves the uniqueness of the Push 2 display, no. Otherwise, a lot of things are shared features. Mine is still going strong. I love it.

I am of course aware of the limitations of 1. Actually, Ableton have given a rather reassuring answer in the comments below this YouTube clip!

Would be cool if both Pushes would get a button combo for "Capture", for instance.

OK, but I'm not as I never really tried the 2. I'd contemplate it if I build a multi-core machine.

Nice! That's the sort of thing I'm taking about. I'm obviously not expecting Wavetable's visualisations to pop up on the Push 1 display. :)
