Fixed Length not Respecting Global Quantization
Fixed Length not Respecting Global Quantization
Hello Users!
Does somebody know why Push2 Fixed Length doesn't respect Global Quantization when recording Audio in Session Mode?
I've already tried different things and none works.
The most surprising thing is that actually starts to record very randomly if you choose a fixed length of 4 bars, sometimes hits in with 2 bars rolling, sometimes 4...
If somebody found a solution, please share it, because this is a very important feature for a live performance!
Thank you very much!

Do you perhaps have a count in bar enabled?
Re: Fixed Length not Respecting Global Quantization
Hello McAnix, thanks for the tip, but unfortunately not.
I don't have a count in bar enabled.

Re: Fixed Length not Respecting Global Quantization
So I've noticed this when recording synths etc...If you hit record the bar before you want to start recording but start holding a note before it starts recording as well that the note will only start playing on the second rotation of the loop, it's got something to do with the MIDI note not being triggered, one needs to hold the note for the exact duration of the recording, also letting go when the recording ends.
Is this perhaps what you are experiencing?

Nop, I'm only recording audio.
I'm doing live loop on the clip session, without a looper using both hands, this is why it's so important to have this feature working.

I don't know why. Do you mean that when transport is rolling and you hit record in an audio track with 2 bars global quantization you expect recording to start after the 2 bars and not after 4 bars? For me it's starts immediately, but I'm using the original Push.ATM wrote:Hello Users!

Did you see this older thread: Fixed Length recording starts off-measure that addressed this issue (though I think it was in Arrangement)? This appeared at the time to be solved with an update.
I've noticed myself that with "fixed length" active and with "Scene Launch starts recording" active, a scene launch will not respect fixed length. Of course starting a recording in the GUI won't either as "fixed length" is a Push function.

Hello StromKtaft,
Thanks for answering!
It's on Session View and I expect to start record on the next bar and do it for the # of bars pre selected.
The thing is that it doesn't start to record on the next bar as a normal clip with Global Quantization would do.
It's kind of unpredictable when it will punch in...
