Push 2 restarting.. anyone else?
Push 2 restarting.. anyone else?
Hi,
I have a new Push2, two weeks old - its connected via the supplied lead to a freshly rebuilt (new SSD) iMac running High sierra.
Its using the proper pack pack too.
Te issue I'm seeing is random, and involves the push 2 freezing, (though the track continues), sometimes showing the push logo, and the only cure seems to be a power off restart - which works fine, though the problem may reoccur just seconds later, or may not happen at all! It has happened 10+ times in a row, separated by seconds or minutes between each lock up.
Anyone seen this before? I'd heard that Chrome can be an issue so that's not running.
Thanks!
Ben

Progress, though disappointing.
Installed Live 10 onto an entirely different machine.. and the same issues are happening on that one too.
It's back in it's box now and will be going back to the store today.

Yeah, mine doesn't do that. I'm on PC but it sounds like a hardware fault with your Push.

Are you using the power supply or just direct off USB?

I think I am having a similar (or same) issue...
If I reboot the PC then all is fine (for a while) then the display goes into some kind of loop where every 7 or so seconds it shows the logo then it goes back to normal.
Followed all the possible trouble shooting suggestions but to no avail.
Is a fix available ?

My Solution!
As of July 10, 2018 - I had an issue with Push 2 showing the logo ever 7 seconds on windows 10 - latest update as of July 10th, 2018(Version 1803 Build 17134.165).. So it worked fine, but the screen just switched to the logo every 7 seconds, and then back to the normal screen - REALLY annoying.
I have a 1080 TI, 64 gigs memory, 18 core CPU.
I was about to take it back to the store...
What I tried that didn't help:
I'm in the IT business, so I tried everything and more. Reboot, Installed latest video drivers, uninstalled drivers, different USB ports, different USB cables, power, no power, USB2, USB3 etc...
The fix:
Exit out of CHROME before you start up Ableton Live 10.
If you start chrome before, it will display the logo every 7 seconds.
If you start it after no problem.
So fresh reboot, don't start chrome, start Ableton Live 10, make sure the 7 second push logo flash doesn't happen. Then you can start chrome.

I'm pretty sure I've heard about some GPU issue with Push2 + Chrome recently. It'd be super kind if you could report your experience to support@ableton.comKicksome wrote:My Solution!

That's interesting since Chrome is the only common browser that supports WebMIDI. I wonder if it's polling for connected devices or something?
