Chromatic & Custom Note Layouts

Post by orin » Sat Apr 06, 2019 5:48 am

Is it possible to configure Push 2 with a custom note layout? Chromatic layouts currently only provide 3 options for vertical steps:
* 4 semitones (called "3rds")
* 5 semitones (called "4ths")
* 8 semitones (called "Sequential")

As a new user, I found this disappointing because it is just one number preventing me from playing the layout that I spent years learning (Chromatic Button Accordion, B-system). Adding an option for 3 semitones would solve my immediate problem, but even better if the user could assign each pad as desired.

I'm not just asking Ableton to do work to suit my preferences here, I am offering to improve the Push. The 3-column chromatic layout I suggest is very musical, logical, and ergonomically playable -- and I am willing to code this myself if you can point me to a git repo (or whatever you use). Thanks for making the Push, and I hope to see it grow & improve with time!

So basically it's hackable? Awesome, thank you so much!
