Can we assign whole chords to individual buttons?

Can we assign whole chords to individual buttons on Push 2?
Re: Can we assign whole chords to individual buttons?
Hi there,
I'm surprised that - no one answered your question and that there IS NO FUNCTION like that in Push as default (at least from what I searched the ableton website, FAQ and videos)
What I found instead is this ->
https://youtu.be/_3sblXiLrLk?t=84
chord-o-matic - a plugin that let's you do what you want. I'm not sure if the plugin will be intuitive or anything but this is what I found just now.
If somebody well versed in Ableton Live or Push or somebody from Ableton staff reads this can you please let me know whethere this will come in the upgrade or something? This seems to be a key function that other midi controllers have like machine mk3 and theorhyboard (check @ irijule.com )
I think I will buy Push tomorrow, but I am deeply dissapointed that there is no such function present, I hope this plugin will work well

There is no single key press chord function but using scales is pretty easy to make progressions and then you also have things like Cthulhu and many other chord generators that can be added on. It has been a request for a long time but nothing on the horizon.

Hi again,
Actually jestermgee there is, please look here
https://youtu.be/AkxNkCTNzy0?t=147
In ableton under midi effects there is "chord -> and then there are different options - see here -> https://gyazo.com/010d7546809653670d472c684c7c5385
It's not broken up by scale but they are groups of chords I guess, which I don't know how to use.
I have two questions for everybody and would love a response.
1. Can I somehow make an '.adv' extension in which I can put all chords that fit the right scale into one file and add it to push like in that video I linked to?
Here is a midi pack I purchased thinking I could do that -> https://unison.audio/product/unison-midi-chord-pack/
2. Is there any other way? Plugin which can organize the hundreds of midi files I have now and can put them on Ableton Push on each pad?
Thanks,
Mark

Yes anything can be added into the chain to generate chords, but Push itself cannot do what was asked, it needs something to generate the chords.MarekL wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 12:30 pmHi again,

Thank you for the answer. Do you happen to know how to do what I asked so that I can jam with chords of a given scale?
If you need a lot of technical knowledge to do this - Is there any VST that can do this?
Thanks,
Mark

Scaler is handy, it detects scales and chords, and tells you what you can play along with it. Besides that, it is not expensive.

Thank you, I am looking at this now. So far I cannot find a setup tutorial for Push, so I guess this is for playing on your keyboard or clicking with your mouse on the VST options right?
Thanks,

Push shouldn’t differ in setup from Push, it is still a keyboard device. Not sure you will find anything about setup with push. It’s just a VST that can create chords you play with a key so should do somewhat what you want. I have it but never used it. I have used Cthulhu and also the scale feature in Komplete Kontrol both with push and it works just fine.

...if you need to set all your tracks to one specific scale with a one button push then i'd recommend the free scale-o-mat device (made by the same developers of the chord-o-mat device)...: https://maxforlive.com/library/index.ph ... cale-o-mat
