Selecting clips so that they're flashing but not starting to play

Post by hum-free » Thu Jan 21, 2021 7:42 pm

Hey there, as you might guess, I'm quite new on working with Live and Push, and I really can't seem to find a solution to this simple task.

How can I select different clips from different scenes, so that they're flashing, but do not start to play until I hit the main play button?

When I hold the select button and press a clip, it is being selected, but it doesn't start flashing. I tried various other combinations, but none of them let me select a clip in a way that it starts flashing. When I press the clip directly, it starts flashing, but it also starts playing which I don't want it to.

Is there maybe something in the preferences I overlooked? Sorry for the noobish question, but I really don't know how to get it :?:

Greetings

Why? Just for the sake of flashing?
More seriously, I think what you're after is the launch quantisation setting, and it's found near the metronome button in Live (you can't natively change this setting from Push, but there's options with M4L if you have it).

I think he wants to select multiple clips and play them all together.

This is what Scenes are for.

Put all the clips you want to play together in the same horizontal line in Session mode (called a Scene). Then you use the button to the right of the pads to launch them all together.
