'keygrid' instrument setup - including many classical works [Push 1s x2 , or LPX x 2]

[Level 3?] Siciliana in D minor - Frank Frontera [LPX keygrid]
(original composition of mine)

Ich dank' dir, lieber Herre
BWV 347 // J.S. Bach

[Level 2] Menuetto in C Major by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart [LPX keygrid]

Here I utilize two [2] Push 1 units:

[Level 3]Polonaise in G Minor, BWV Anh. 119, attr. J.S. Bach [on 'keygrid' instrument]

[Level 1]Minuet in A minor – Johann Krieger [on 'keygrid' instrument]

[Level 1] Allegro in Bb – W.A. Mozart, K 3 [on 'keygrid' instrument]

https://youtu.be/z9qEVjfewgQ

[Level 2] Impertinence, HWV 494, G.F. Handel [on keygrid]
https://youtu.be/GsB3AJyUCYg

[Level ?] Bourrée in E minor - J.S. Bach, BWV 996 [on keygrid]
https://youtu.be/ROCOt0CLsY8

A keygrid (as opposed to keyboard) is a contrapuntal instrument with the notes arranged vertically in perfect fourths, and horizontally as chromatic. It is playable with two hands like a piano [or organ, harpsichord, or any other keyboard instrument], but with a system of notes matching the guitar in perfect 4ths tuning, a bass guitar, double bass, etc. As a new standard, electronic and hybrid models will take centre stage in the upcoming musical era.

The last of my videos on the Push units (at least for now). The next releases will be on a cleaner, more presentable instrument setup [LPXs!]. Upcoming is an Introduction video to the keygrid concept, educational tutorials, and more. Please subscribe, like, and share!

Show off! :p

How on earth have you learned to play the keyboard on that?! Practice I guess. Did you not have a MIDI keyboard and were forced to be creative? It's interesting what we can do under imposed limitations.

I don't know enough music theory to tell, but I presume you have arranged the pads such that the relationships between notes from pads with a particular relative positioning will sound good, like stacked thirds or fifths or something?

I enjoyed the listen and the performances!

Keep it up. :)

Thanks Psyberspace! The perfect fourths stack, which I am calling 'keygrid', is a default arrangement available on both Push and the LPXs - though I modified the colors to be more neutral; black and white like the keyboard. I do practice for sure.

As I was progressing in my counterpoint studies - I did not want to bother learning the keyboard, I actually found it easier with the keygrid setup because I already knew guitar patterns -which are replicated (at least the EADG strings, or like bass guitar) here.

I really appreciate it! More to come :)
