Interesting. I've always wondered how that song would sound with a techno beat. Musically I think it works to an extent. The part when the vocals come in at the beginning is really cool but after a certain point I get tired of hearing both songs and want to hear either one or the other, which is what happens in a lot of mash-ups.

The video didn't do as much for me, partly because the source video of Martha and the Vandellas just isn't that interesting to watch. But I also think it's because of the editing. It just wasn't that dynamic, which is what I want to see in a mash-up video. I saw way too much of Martha singing. More quick cuts, and more creativity finding visual parallels between the videos would have been nice. But the concept intrigues me.

Way better job than the Mick Jagger/ Bowie version at least! How did you isolate the vocals so well?

@ jonno

Thank you very much for your comment and your time spending watching my work. I really appreciate it!
Like I wrote: this was my first try, to work with videos in live. 3 days ago I didn't even know live had this funktion.
It's really fascinating to see, that you can actually warp videos as easy as you do it with music. To the editing: I am sure, that in the future I will be able to to better editing but my urge in this video was to lipsync the old video to the new background music, wich is actually only an 8 and a 16 beat loop of Kylies song (transposed of course) with some extra beats and samples.

I fond the acapella of Martha & the Vandellas on acapellas4you - a great site for remixers!

Like I said before: thank you for your time!
