My best produced song - Drum and Bass

Post by psychohagis » Fri Feb 05, 2010 12:52 pm

Hey ableton people.

We got a new song up called "Gyrations".

Probably my best produced song although myspace's compression has ruined it. If you watch this thread i'll stick it on sound cloud in the next day or so where hopefully it will sound better.

yeah, myspace crapped all over the mix.

I'd like to hear it on Sound Cloud. listening through the myspace BS the production doesn't sound that bad. the vocals might be a bit loud. good track!

Would love to hear the difference myself on SC. On my system the vox sound too dull and I couldn't make out the words on MySpace. So I thought the voxs could have been louder. Go figure. Thanks!

Ok as promosed:

Slightly touched up version too from whats on myspace. Although my production partner was doing some work on the vocals and I'm unsure about the timing now but let me know what you guys think.
Im biased having been working on this song for a while I keep getting used to different versions of the vocals.

Thanks

OMG. What a big difference... I am convinced that MySpace sucks the life out of tracks. I listened to them side by side. SC is so much brighter and cleaner. That track rocks dude.

Yh its an annoyingly big difference.

Its not as noticeable with our older tracks. I guess the better you make it the more myspace ruins it, lol.

And thanks.

If you are going for an awesome, slightly cheesy, synth pop sound, then it is great. I liked it quite a bit.

I am not sure how to take that. I think it was an attempt at a compliment, lol.
It was meant to be quite poppy. We have much less poppy songs. But as far as production and the overall mix this is probably our best so far - at least I think so.

I have herd this said before about myspace, it was my understanding that myspace limited file size only (10mb) and so as long as a track fell under this it should stay the same... yes? (IE no further compression)

still sound cloud is the way to go, no "MordochSpace.com"!

I don't think that can be right cos the original file I uploaded to myspace wasnt over 4mb
