It still sounds awful to me...

Post by slankamenac » Sun Oct 24, 2010 9:15 pm

Hello dear Ableton users!

Last few weeks I was working on this minimal-tech song http://soundcloud.com/slankamenac/haha-huhu-hihi
Now I'm resting my ears from it and when some time passes I will come back to it and add one more layer of atmospheric sounds, just to chill it up a little bit :)

I'm relatively new to production, and I hope I will get a nice feedback from you guys, hit me hard! :)

Cheers!

Thank you very much evileye!
I'm glad to hear that there is one more to like this song.
Thank you for noticing about EQ! It really is a problem, I don't have right equipment, I'm working on some old HF stereo but I have access to one expensive and really great studio so I hope it will be good to go for mastering after I recheck all tracks overthere. :)
Cheers! :)

Cut the decay on the kick a bit, that will help.

Hey Machinesworking,
thank you for your tip!
I've played a bit more with kick and realized that you were right!
First I've lowered the sound of the kicks tail and then fixed it totally with fine changes in compression, but it is still slightly there because it sounds nice to me :)
I definitely need to get one pair of Adam A7X and stop uploading anything until I place them into my room :)

Thank you once again,
Slankamenac.

Glad it helped. Not very often do I hear a mix and know what would work quickly, but with your track it popped out IMO.
