Happy Holidays, folks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkTM8zl1OJI
Here's a Festivus song that I did using Ableton.
After reading the forums on Final Cut Express and camera compatibility, I felt stupid for buying Final Cut Express only to find out my piece of @#!% Panasonic SDR-S26 camera needed a converter. I bought a Quicktime plugin which didn't work (although I admit that a noob like myself will always overlook the most basic steps).
Anyways, I looked at the LIVE forums and remembered that you can do video in LIVE. Here's an example of it:
The problem is that my camera is poor, and probably something happened in the conversion that made the video so grainy. Oh well, I think the cute shots and over-enthusiastic vocals make up for that. What do you think?
The video editor is perfect for making music videos, because you need to be able to have multiple tracks in order to sync each track to the timing of the song before editing. In imovie, that cannot be done. Of course there are absolutely no effects and the image quality has been noted in other forums to be quite poor. Anyways, I stepped up my game with a new camera: Sony HDR-CX350, which works well with Final Cut Express (after you update the software). I will be posting that in January.
What do you guys think of the dynamics when my girlfriend starts singing? I lowered the volume of most of the tracks except for one of the two drum tracks, then raised it slowly. I count on you production heads out there for constructive criticism.
Happy New Year,
