Thanks! I was just listening to one of your tracks now. Onelivecircle has a nice ambient/pulsing soundtrack vibe. Digging it, for sure!

Just a question - do you use an eastern scale like hijaz or microtunings
thru SCALA or .tun files ?

The melody of the yayl? tanbur is based on Turkish hicaz on A. Thus the .tun file is in my fingers :) The only synth retuned was via a .tun file for Zebra for the bass part.

Will do, Tagor 8) I've been itching to get back to Europe for awhile now, so I'll definitely look you up. Thanks.

@mayabong: Thanks! I appreciate it.

Hey man - the mix is nice and wide, but I wish I could hear the string instrument more clearly - and maybe even with an accompaniment - you hit the high and low spectrum beautifully though. The overall movement of the piece is beautiful, but the texture of the kick may sound better if replaced with an acoustic (but maybe distorted slightly) drum sample. I really appreciate the details that are thrown in. The mashup on the master track is ok, but towards the end, I wish it lived over top of the recording, instead of completely chopping the whole thing (pretty sure there's an option where you can overlay your cuts ontop of your original beat). As for groove, it's really nice - I appreciate the authenticity of the instrumentation throughout the whole piece -

have you considered sound effects? the high end samples are beautiful, and almost like splashes - I wonder what this would sound like with water!

Yes, I may do a remix. It could be my particular monitoring setup, but I'm hearing the tanbur just fine. Or I guess I should say, it's about right where I want it. BUT I have yet to audition it on a lot of other sound systems, so you're probably right that the clarity of the yayl? tanbur could be improved. :) Probably better mics, too.

Where in the arrangement might you hear water? In place of or juxtaposed with the splash and finger cymbals? I like the idea, but I'm wary of clouding the mix with too much stuff. The exact sort of thing I'm going for nowadays entails keeping the arrangement somewhat sparse and fairly unfettered by too much in the way of effects. Thanks :!:
