Hi!
Here's a short behind-the-scenes on an animation score that I just finished. I had 11 string players in studio that I in most cases doubled with one or two takes.

I tried to keep the sound un-hollywood-like, preserving intimacy and articulation of the real players. After all, if you don't hear it's real musicians, there's much less point in having them...
The other instruments include a real ukulele, nylon guitar and a bunch of other plugin percussions.
I did the score in Live until to the point the real strings came in. Then I was forced to move to ProTools, not because of sound reasons, but simply for practicality since all the strings takes were in a ProTools project and the final delivery format was a ProTools session as well. So I bounced the music to be mixed in with real strings and final mixing.
I'm really happy to get thoughts on this!
