New EP made in Ableton, M4L with a lot of guitars

Post by BobSubgenius » Sun Apr 06, 2014 11:39 am

I made this EP for 95 % in Ableton Suite with stock plugins and some M4L patches I wrote myself.
Feedback (positive and negative!) is very welcome! Thanks for listening!

Thanks Format, glad you like it!
I'm listening to your soundcloud right now, cool tracks in there! Like the guitars in TWLGHT.
Good find, you got a new follower :)

I'm still wondering what kind of music I actually made on my EP. Not that it is super important to put a label on it, just curious how others would call it.
I always say something like ambient-doom or drone, whatever that means :)
How would you call it? Let me know if you like, I'm always happy about opinions.

It falls in the sound art/drone/ambient category for sure.

Thanks for checking out my stuff; there's now a second profile here due to running out of space:

Any Zvex fuzz factory in there ? I thought I could spot it in some places.

Hi Madlab, some guitars are completely made in guitar rig 4, with guitar rig effects.
Others went through a Vox wah (used as filter) -> Rat -> Electro Harmonix Micro Synth and then in guitar rig (used as amp simulation).
The basses have a lot of Izotope's Trash2 on them for distortion.
But you are right, I was aiming for a more fuzzy quality and the fuzz factory (along with the other Zvex stuff) is on my wish-list for sure :)

How do you record your guitars?
