First Post: ableton live + maschine performance from scratch

Post by pushtotalk » Tue Oct 06, 2020 12:57 pm

Hi everyone. Major lurker here with my first share on the forums.

With more time at home, I've been reworking some of my material so I can perform it from a blank session start to finish. Sounds are preselected but otherwise all of the arrangement comes together during the song.

I learned a lot from this board which has been super helpful:
- split keyboard + instrument racks for smooth transitions between parts
- audio effects + external effect routing to capture and monitor audio at zero latency
- ClyphX to switch tracks and trigger actions live
- M4L + multimap for mapping single knobs to more complex transitions
- working with looper
- Mapping and setup strategies for Maschine in drum racks
- Mixing/tracking with a low-latency limiter

Happy to share more info on the above or link to good threads for each if that would be useful.

Gear:
Ableton Live, M4L and ClyphX Pro
Push 2
Maschine
Faderfox EC4
Midi Fighter Twister
Old Alesis keyboard
Nektar Pacer (midi footboard)

Hello.
I created a full and automatic Ableton Live and Nektar Pacer foot controller integration: https://payhip.com/mareq
It configures Pacer automatically, sets the colors according to Live's tracks colors, full LED feedback, record and trigger clips, group tracks support, audio overdubbing, zero need of Pacer configuration, automatic track arming, undo/delete all clips, scene/tracks mode, etc.
Full workflow for efficient live looping and operating Live clips by foots.
You could check it ;)
