Your top 10 free vst list
Re: Your top 10 free vst list
^^^ just go to http://www.dontcrack.com you will find plenty there.
nicely categorised after PC/MAC, INSTRUMENT/FX and AU/VST/ETC... easy to navigate and always with a short description, link to the developer page, etc.
a source you should visit every couple of month, it is also a well maintained site.

Re: Your top 10 free vst list
A real crazy plug is sweet girl blue verb and sweet girl blue verb prosperity, I actually got that one from a friend, but they seem to be unavailable for download these days. theres also cinematic reverb. I´ve quit searching for more of those, but I´m sure there are plenty of weird sounding reverbs out there.andrewbrewer wrote:my interest is piqued, please list some more of the crazy 'verbs and crazy delaysGrappadura wrote:emu free sampler, black magic lite (hgsounds), massturbotar, reupcer, granuliser (all by morfiki) dblue glitch, pancake, the tom gersic filters (Hp, lp, bp), omniverb, ambience (I basically love every free reverb out there - there are so many different, a crazy one f. i. is mutant reverb!), buffer override, rough rider, and tons of different delays, crazy ones like bouncy or dubby ones like the one from arc dev noise industries.
Regarding delays, dfx transverb (delay not reverb), fire by mdsp, bionic delay, echomania, etap delay, tal dub. each one does a different trick.
anyway, the best place to search for plugins is at the tom gersic site, http://plugins.gersic.com/ . Probably not half as many plugins listed as at kvr, but they´re better sorted me thinks.

Re: Your top 10 free vst list
very nice thanks.
hard for me to do a top 10, more like a top 1 - I use Sam's "VOPM" quite a bit, perfect lo-fi FM synth, similar to the Sega Genesis.

Re: Your top 10 free vst list
I've only tried using one VST, this whole recording and DAW is very new to me, so I won't be giving a top ten list. Anyway it's called Aquestone, it always seems to make Abletone crash though, but I love the sound.
A good example of it can be heard in this song; Amethyst Caverns music video, it's being used for the voice in this track. I think it sounds amazing. especially when the guitar kicks in over the top of it.
To top it off, Module (the artist responsible), loves him some Ableton Live.

Re: Your top 10 free vst list
Damn I sweared to enter this topic when I'll get a valuable list but ...Dr Bad Dude PHD wrote:I've only tried using one VST, this whole recording and DAW is very new to me, so I won't be giving a top ten list. Anyway it's called Aquestone
Aquestone is really awesome, You can manage some sentences and scroll through [only have to respect japanese phoneme>>there's a list for aquestone]
THe only lil buggy thing, when you reopen a previous project, youi'll have to open the gui device again to hear a sound from it.
My list;
-Livecut
-DblueGlitch [the newest version is stable]
-Reversinator
-Backman _same as reversinator but it bugs when you record the fader from wet to dry effect.
The recording is ok but the playback sucks_ well I always have an audio track to record the result in the case of [or make a sidechain rack to replace the bugged fader]
-Gemini1
-Photon2
-BuzComp Free GranComp [a T-racks like]
-ProtoPSG
-Phadiz [A nice stringSynth]
-Augur
THere are plenty of cool stuff
From TweakBench to SmartElectronix and more
Re: Your top 10 free vst list
thank you! SIR sounds great, aether is amazing;
"Unlike convolution reverbs, Aether is not a static process, and no two instances of Aether are ever exactly the same. The same is true in real world acoustical spaces as well: a building's acoustical character may vary slightly depending on several factors such as its current occupancy, and even more subtle things such as the current temperature and humidity"
they got me...
