I agree with you but... If you find a partner that at least respects what you do, even if it's just a hobby, then there are benefits. And, it does force you to be more productive with your time.

But taking off a day, regardless of relationships, to work on music is definitely a good feeling. I do it about 3 times a year.

loneliness puke_ it may feels right on the moment but it always lacks of something_
my mind is just more peaceful knowing I have my wife on my side_ she respects my passion and I can't wait to push her on playing music herself!

So much better to live with a sister soul

I frankly don't believe I would have the required strenght to cumulate 8hours fulltime dayjob + evening cursus every day + music making_

She gives me the strenght! that's it!

Well, for me, if it's a choice between time in bed with my wife or making music...

...Time in bed wins every time.

My chick knows I make tunes and in the 3 months we've been dating, she's never asked to hear my shit, and worse yet, from the dozens of times shes been in the studio, she has never once had a flick through my 500 strong vinyl collection.

Actually, I just realised, I think I might just be dating a really selfish, shallow, fickle, high-maintenance bee-atch.

I can't go on like this! Need Abe time!

The other thing is, chicks don't really like the whole "been on the computer for 10 hours" look.

Only way I could ever stay with a girl for a long time was if she was really into music. My wife has a degree in audio engineering, and our first date was to Guitar Center to check out the Emu Orbit. :) She doesn't do much music stuff anymore, but at least she understands.
