I agree with you but... If you find a partner that at least respects what you do, even if it's just a hobby, then there are benefits. And, it does force you to be more productive with your time.

But taking off a day, regardless of relationships, to work on music is definitely a good feeling. I do it about 3 times a year.

Only way I could ever stay with a girl for a long time was if she was really into music. My wife has a degree in audio engineering, and our first date was to Guitar Center to check out the Emu Orbit.

She doesn't do much music stuff anymore, but at least she understands.
