An acoustic palindrome would be a sample plus the sample in reverse?

not exactly. it's a sound (or sentence) that sounds the same when played reversed.
couldn't find any english example, but i'm sure there must be plenty. if you manage to read some french, try this: "une slave valse nu" (it is pronouced as written)

You are right about things that are read.
I meant "pure" sound like a cymbal and the cybal in reverse as one sound - it should be the same played from either end.

Hey, as long as we are off topic, if anyone knows where I could find a sample of the famous "I barried Paul," reversed beatle sample, I would be so greatful!

http://www.beatlesagain.com/bmyths.html

A common belief is that John says "I Buried Paul" at the end of Strawberry Fields Forever on the Magical Mystery Tour album. In fact, he actually says "Cranberry Sauce", not once, but twice.
The Proof:

On the ending of Strawberry Fields on the version on the Anthology 2 album, you can clearly hear John saying "Cranberry Sauce" twice, and then "Calm Down, Ringo" to cause the track to come to a grinding halt.

In addition, in this interview sound clip, John corrects the interviewer to emphatically say that he said "Cranberry Sauce" and not "I Buried Paul" on Strawberry Fields.

But there is parody lyrics that uses the phrase at

Don't let's forget musical palindromes like Bach's Crab Cannon
"That very perceptive of you Mr Stapleton, and rather unexpected... in a G Major"

When Crab's Genes DNA strands are unraveled and laid out side by side, a short section reads this way:

...TTTTTTTTTCGAAAAAAAAA...
...AAAAAAAAAGCTTTTTTTTT...
