Share your favorite TED talks?

Post by Johnisfaster » Wed Oct 28, 2009 1:19 am

I've found TED Talks extremely inspirational lately. So I thought maybe people might want to share their favorites here and maybe a short description of the video and some of your own personal thoughts on the subject.

my first contribution

This one touches on why we should actively seek and encourage others to hunger for more information about the people of the world. I found it pretty moving.
It was as if someone shook up a 6 foot can of blood soda and suddenly popped the top.

They're all so good. I love the ones on the brain. But check out Hans Rosling at the helm of data visuals.

Evelyn Glennie on how to listen
http://www.ted.com/talks/evelyn_glennie ... isten.html

"In this soaring demonstration, deaf percussionist Evelyn Glennie illustrates how listening to music involves much more than simply letting sound waves hit your eardrums...

Scottish percussionist and composer Evelyn Glennie lost nearly all of her hearing by age 12. Rather than isolating her, it has given her a unique connection to her music..."
