Can't really see what you're after here, as the poly~ is missing and not creating a correct bogus object (which is a bug, but I think its reported already...), but i know its possible...monolake wrote:It would be so great:
- no wires etc needed between UI elements and engine
- parameter names as shown in Live UI are the ones that are passed to poly~ ( no confusion ! )
- ability to reacall and resent all parameters to poly~ when needed. ( e.g. when changing number of voices )
I made an additive synth this summer with some techniques which allow to have a single UI envelope adressing something like 16 envelopes in 8 voices of a poly~. I stored the envelopes in a seperate poly~ and the voices would just bind to those pattrs, wheras the Ui would bind to the envelopes in my envelope poly~. This worked nicely, but the patch had difficulties in M4L. The last Max beta even stopped it from working correctly.
Its running fine in Max 5.0.8 though. You can try to digest it : http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/288305/YAAS.zip
certainly you'll need my St.ools as well: http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/288305/St.ools%20for%205.zip
But it would require the non-beta Max 5.0.8...
Currently I am preparing a physical model synth with the same technique, which is coming along well, watch out the "time to share" thread...
